Dear Prospective Teacher,

I’m writing this to you from Korea, where I am very happily employed with a great hagwon.  I’m having the best time of my life, and it’s because of Sunny at Appletree Recruiting.

A half a year ago I was back home in the States looking for a job.  I put an ad up on monster.com and got a response from a recruiter wanting me to work in Korea.  I had never thought of it before and I started to do some research.  I figured out pretty quickly that if I wanted to make decent money teaching English overseas I needed to head to Korea.

Once I decided to make the jump to Korea I put my resume up on the web and  I was overwhelmed by the recruiters who contacted me.  From the little research I’d done, I knew that plenty of people had heard scary stories about recruiters.  How impersonal they are, how they don’t care about you… all kinds of things.

Well I can tell you from my personal experience that Appletree Recruiting is the kind of recruiter you can place your trust in.  Whether it was document collection or setting up interviews, every time I talked with Appletree they were extremely professional.  They walked me through everything.  The E-2 process is confusing, and I’m not a very smart guy, but Sunny and Inhui took care of me. 

I needed some special accommodations for my flight, as I needed time to pick up my passport at the consulate.  Appletree took care of the whole thing.  And, most importantly, I was met at Inchon Airport by a person, Travis, from Appletree. 

Of course I quickly heard from Sunny after I settled into my job.  She made sure everything was going well and she was willing to mediate any problems I had.  Thankfully I didn’t have any problems, but her help can be very important.  If you’ve never been abroad, you’d be amazed what can be “lost in translation” so it’s great to have someone in your corner.
